Bear Vision is an Indigenous owned business created in 2000 to assist Indigenous organizations, First Nations communities, Industry partners and government in the employment and training sector.
This is accomplished through a wholistic process that will create an understanding of their respective individual and unique needs. Bear Vision is committed to the development of culturally appropriate employment and training models which are facilitated through a wholistic approach that honor and reflect Indigenous ways of knowing and being.

About the Owner
Denyse is owner of Bear Vision Consulting & Training and the Founder & COO for Tribalure Cosmetics & Skin Care Inc., an Indigenous woman owned cosmetics company. Further to this, Denyse is the Board President, and her primary role is to ensure that the board is effective in setting and implementing the company’s strategic directions and overseeing the business and setting high governance standards.
Denyse’s is ‘Kokokoo Ik8e’ (Screech Owl Woman) of the Mak8a (Bear) clan from Apitipi Anicinapek Nation. Her “Kitchi mama’s (grandmothers) are Mary Black and Mary Nadon of Apitipi Anicinapek Nation. She is a daughter, granddaughter, sister, and auntie. She strives for wholistic health and embraces her Indigenous ways of knowing and being through the ceremonies that help to ground her in her identity as a proud Algonquin woman.
Denyse is an accomplished Indigenous Adult educator with 25+ years’ experience nationally and internationally. She is committed to fostering positive and reciprocal Indigenous learning spaces with a wholistic culturally forward-thinking mentality. Denyse prides herself as a lifelong learner as evidenced by her current work towards her Doctorate of Education in Distance Education from Athabasca University. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Education with Distinction in Aboriginal Adult Education as well as a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
Denyse has been in the consulting, training, and community development sector since 2000 and the mining sector for 14+ years in several capacities from Lead Negotiator, Business Development, and Employment & Training. Denyse believes that her people are the most valuable resource and strives to foster respectful and reciprocal spaces. Finally, Denyse has always been inspired by business development and focuses her entrepreneurial spirit towards Indigenous economic reconciliation on Turtle Island.
Our Expertise
We are deeply knowledgeable about Indigenous ways of knowing and being, providing culturally holistic and creative training and development. Our team has successfully developed an Indigenous Adult Learning Centre and offers strategic leadership in various initiatives. We excel in communication, planning, organizing, and teamwork, ensuring a collaborative approach to all our projects.
Our educational background is robust, including an ongoing Doctor of Education in Distance Education from Athabasca University, a Master’s of Education in Leadership in Learning from Yorkville University, and a Bachelor of Education with Distinction specializing in Aboriginal Adult Education from Brock University.
Our Professional Experience
Our leadership experience includes roles such as Director of Development at Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre, Program Academic Advisor/Mentor at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, and Business Development Coordinator for Moose Cree First Nation & Detour Gold. We have led negotiations and strategic initiatives for Wahgoshig First Nation, coordinated training programs for the Mine Training Society, and provided strategic leadership as Executive Director of the Native Women’s Association of the NWT.
Our certifications include qualifications as a Mining Essentials Trainer and completion of various programs on Indigenous leadership and governance. We have presented at numerous conferences, providing keynote addresses and facilitating discussions on critical issues affecting Indigenous communities.
